1000 Killed By Cyclone Idai In Mozambique
Latest reports about the aftermaths of the Cyclone Idai suggest more that 1000 people may have been killed in Mozambique alone as a result the vicious cyclone, with 90% of Beira, a city with 0.5 million inhabitants, destroyed.
According to the reports, total death toll in the countries slammed by the cyclone, namely Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi could be several thousands. Cyclone Idai has also caused massive destruction of infrastructure in the three countries.
Cyclone Idai hit land in Mozambique on March 14, 2019 and thereafter moved on into the hinterland reaching Zimbabwe and Malawi.
