Tanzania Threatens Twaweza With Legal Action After Revelation Of Magufuli's Dwindling Popularity

A few days ago, Tanzania's most prominent pollster and think tank Twaweza published findings of a public opinion poll it carried out recently, that showed that popularity rating of the country's president, John Magufuli, plummeted from 96% in 2016 to 55% in 2018 hence a staggering drop of 41% in just two years. The research body associated the dwindling popularity of the president to some of his policies that allegedly deny citizens their individual freedom.

Now it is reported in various local and international media that the government of Tanzania is furious about the scientific revelation. Threatening to take legal action against Twaweza unless the think tank explain itself! But then, if it is true the popularity rating of the president has dramatically dropped, will legal action against those who revealed it help him regain popularity?
