Sudan's Ex-President Omar al-Bashir Jailed

A court in Sudan's capital Khartoum has sentenced the country's disgraced former president Omar al-Bashir to two years in jail for corruption and money laundering, reported various media on December 14, 2019.

Omar al-Bashir, also wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague for: crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide in the country's Darfur region, was forced to go in April 2019 after months of massive street pro-democracy protests nationwide. After stepping down, authorities found bags containing millions of US dollars in his house.
