Rwandese Opposition Politician Murdered

Killing of opposition politicians continues in Rwanda after a prominent politician belonging to the opposition party United Democratic Forces (UDF) was murdered on September 23, 2019.

According to some media on September 25, 2019, the murdered politician, namely Syridio Dusabumuremyi, was found in his business premises with multiple stab wounds and slashed throat. Syridio Dusabumuremyi becomes the third opposition politician murdered in Rwanda in 2019.

Rwanda is said to be among authoritarian regimes in the world, with a democracy score of only 3.35 as of 2018 by the Democracy Index. North Korea has the lowest score at 1.08, while Norway has the highest score at 9.87 in a scale of 0 - 10.
