Updated: Sep 23, 2020
US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, reported some media on September 9, 2020.
According to the reports, the nomination of President Trump for the prestigious prize was submitted to the Norwegian Nobel Committee by a Norwegian legislator Christian Tybring-Gjedde in recognition of the president’s help in brokering a peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in August 2020.
The nomination of President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize is very likely to be applauded big time worldwide given his incredible contribution to peace and other great things not only in the Middle East but other parts of the world as well. We will elaborate his peace milestones as thus.
Besides brokering the peace deal between Israel and UAE, President Trump has successfully brokered establishment of economic cooperation between Serbia and Kosovo.
Also, Donald Trump is the first US president to have face to face meetings with the leader of North Korea, in is relentless effort to get North Korea abandon its nuclear weapon program hence normalize relations with USA.
In addition, President Trump has played a key role in brokering ongoing peace talks between the Government of Afghanistan and its arch-enemy the Taliban.
Furthermore, arrival of President Donald Trump on the global political scene with his iconic motto "Make America Great Again" that implied, among other things, putting America first while urging others to put their countries first too, has been a massive blow to neocolonialism.
More specifically, through his great foreign affairs policies of non-interference in other countries unless when human rights are grossly violated, and cooperation with all countries for mutual benefits, President Donald Trump has contributed immensely to the decline of neocolonialism in the world and particularly in Africa. Hitherto Trump Era, USA was the undisputed leading proponent of neocolonialism with the rest of the countries in the Western world remaining mere little followers. Without its powerful and wealthy leader, neocolonialism weakens remarkably!
Finally, but not least, President Donald Trump is one of very few US presidents to have ruled for almost a full 4 year mandate period without initiating or influencing a major new war or armed conflict in some parts of the world.
