Cameroon's President Paul Bia has won the country's presidential election the was held on October 12, 2025, reported some African media on October 27, 2025. He reportedly won with 54% of the vote, while his main rival Issa Tchiroma took home 35%.

The election is said to have been highly controversial, marred by pre and post election deadly violence. The controversial victory implies 8th term in office for the incumbent president, and at 92 he becomes the world's oldest head of state.


Controversial presidential elections are common place in most countries in Africa. However, in some countries, citizens and security forces are beginning to get fed up with this chronic shameful political malaise that is definitely the main cause of sluggish economic and technological advancement in the continent. For instance, such kind of elections and subsequent bad governments are believed to have triggered military coups in Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Niger, and more recently Madagascar that are strongly supported by citizens especially the youth.
