A peace deal has been reached between the government of Central African Republic (CAR) and 14 rebel groups, reported some media on February 6, 2019.

The peace agreement was reached in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, on February 5, 2019, following talks that have been going on there for weeks, between the two sides. The talks were sponsored by United Nations Mission In CAR (MINUSCA) and the African Union (AU).

The peace deal will be formally signed in Bangui later.
