Mozambique Inaugurates 3 Kilometer Long Cross Sea Bridge

Mozambique's 3 kilometer long suspension bridge over Maputo Bay was inaugurated by the country's President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi on November 10, 2018, reported some African media.

The twin tower suspension bridge known as Maputo-Katembe Bridge is 60 meters above water level and currently the longest in Africa. It links downtown Maputo on the northern end to Katembe settlement on the southern end towards South Africa border.

Construction of the bridge began in 2014 at a cost of $785 million.
