Bobi Wine En Route To USA

Just before midnight August 31, 2018, the embattled Ugandan lawmaker and reggae star Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine left his homeland aboard a KLM flight to Amsterdam en route to the USA for medical treatment. That was reported by various media sources on September 1, 2018.

The lawmaker is said to have been battered and tortured by security forces during arrest some days ago. Following the torture allegations, Uganda's Chief Justice is reported to have warned the country's security forces, saying Uganda's Constitution prohibits torture. He particularly told them people should be arrested as human beings, not animals.
