Ugandan MP Bobi Wine Re-Arrested And Charged For Treason
Immediately after charges of arms possession against Ugandan member of parliament (MP) Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, were dropped by the state at a military court in the northern city of Gulu on August 23, 2018, the MP was re-arrested and taken to a nearby magistrate court where he was charged for treason. That was reported by East African media on August 24, 2018.
After been charged, he famous MP and pop star was remanded in custody at Gulu Prison until August 30, 2018.
Under Uganda's law, treason may lead to the death penalty.
