Dr Kofi Annan Is Dead

Former UN Secretary-General Dr Kofi Annan is dead, reported various media sources on August 18, 2018. He was 80.

Dr Annan, a Ghanaian, was the 7th UN Secretary-General from 1997 to 2006. He was the first African to hold the position.

At the time of his death, Dr Annan was a member The Elders. The latter is a group of renowned prominent elders from all over the world, who advocate for human rights. He was also the founder of Kofi Annan Foundation.
