Munangagwa Wins Zimbabwe's Presidential Election

Zimbabwe's incumbent president and leader of ruling party ZANU-PF, Emmerson Munangagwa, won by a very narrow margin the country's presidential election held on July 30, 2018, announced Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) at early hours of August 3, 2018. According to the announcement, Mr Munangagwa secured 50.8% of the vote against 44.3% taken by his main rival Nelson Chamisa of MDC-Alliance.
Notwithstanding, however, Mr Chamisa has so far refused to concede defeat, citing electoral fraud. He is reported to have particularly said the results announced by ZEC were unverified and fake, and MDC-Alliance has evidence to prove that. As such, the main opposition has vowed to appeal the results in court.
