South African High Court Revokes Grace Mugabe's Diplomatic Immunity

Johannesburg High Court has revoked diplomatic immunity granted to the former first lady of Zimbabwe Grace Mugabe in 2017 by the government of South Africa, reported South African media on July 30, 2018.

The diplomatic immunity was issued to Ms Mugabe after she was accused of assaulting a 20 year old South African model Gabriella Engels in an upmarket hotel in Johannesburg. The high court is said to have argued that the granting of the diplomatic immunity did not comply with South Africa's Constitution.
