Angola Inaugurates New President

Angola inaugurated its new president, Joâo Manuel Goncalves Lourenco, on September 26, 2017. Mr Lourenco becomes the first new president of Angola after 38 year rule of former president Josè Eduardo dos Santos. Both Lourenco and dos Santos belong to a political party called Popular Liberation Movement of Angola, MPLA, that has been governing Angola since 1975.
