Official Campaigns For Rwanda Presidential Election 2017 Begins

Official campaigns for Rwanda Presidential Elections 2017 began officially on July 14, 2017. The election is scheduled to be held on August 4, 2017. Many observers predict the incumbent president, Paul Kagame to emerge the winner. Two other presidential candidates are said to be novices at the country's political arena, hence unlikely to pose considerable threat to Mr Kagame's victory. Mr Paul Kagame has been in power since the end of Rwanda genocide in 1994. In 2015, an amendment to the country's Constitution triggered by a referendum, allowed him to run for a third term in office.
