Tyla was honoured with MTV's Best Afrobeats Award at the MTV Video Music Awards 2024 alias MTV VMAs 2024 ceremony that was held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York City, on September 11, 2024 (local Time). She won the trophy with her recent song Water.

On landing at the red carpet of the event, the young music superstar was in an awesome outfit entailing yellow strapless tailed fringe Area mini dress.
