Trump Posts Video Portraying Obama And His Wife As Apes

US President Donald Trump has posted a short video on his social media platform, Truth Social, that portrayed former US President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes. That was reported by some US media on February 7, 2026.
According to the reports, President Trump posted the video on February 5, 2026. In the video that is said to be about 1 minute and 2 seconds long, the faces of Mr and Mrs Obama are seen superimposed on bodies of apes.
Reportedly, the sharing of such a video about a former US president, by President Trump, has been strongly condemned in the USA by many senior politicians from both the Republican and the Democratic Parties. Following the condemnations, President Trump reportedly deleted the video from the social media. He, however, refused to apologize for its publication, saying that he didn't make a mistake, while the White House argued that it was posted by mistake.
Overall, the sharing of the highly offending video by President Trump, is said to have been described in various quarters in the USA and beyond as racist, appalling, and even an attempt by the president to distract the US public from some failures of his administration so far.
