Sudan’s Ex-President Omar al-Bashir In Court One More Time
Former president of Sudan Omar al-Bashir, currently serving a jail sentence for corruption, was on July 21, 2020 taken to court one more time, to stand trial for planning the country's 1989 military coup that brought him to power. That was reported by various media. If found guilty, he may face the death penalty on this occasion.
Omar al-Bashir is also wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague, for crimes against humanity he allegedly committed in the country’s Darfur Region.
