Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Appointed WTO’s New Boss

The World Trade Organization (WTO) has appointed Nigeria’s Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala its new director general, reported some media on February 15, 2021.
The Harvard and MIT educated economist and former cabinet minister takes over from former director general Roberto Azevedo. Dr Okonjo-Iweala becomes the first woman and first African to hold the top WTO position.
