Nairobi To Host World Athletics Championships 2029

Nairobi city in Kenya has won the bid to host World Athletics Championships 2029. That was announced by the World Athletics in Budapest on September 15, 2026.
Nairobi outclassed London, Rome, and Munich to win the landmark bid. The successful bid implies that Nairobi becomes the first African city to host the prestigious global sports event.
This is the second time Nairobi bided to host World Athletics Championships. First time was a bid to host the championships in 2025, but was unsuccessful, after Tokyo won it.
