Kenya's Most Prominent Opposition Leader Raila Odinga Dies

Kenya's most prominent opposition leader and ex-Prime Minister Raila Odinga is dead, reported some Kenyan media. He is said to have died in hospital in India on October 15, 2025 (local time). He was 80.

Raila Odinga was the leader of a powerful opposition coalition in Kenya called Azimio la Umoja alias One Kenya Coalition Party, and prime minister from 2008 - 2013. He ran as presidential nominee, but unsuccessfully, in 5 presidential elections in the East African Community country.
