George Floyd's Family To Receive $27 million From Minneapolis City

Minneapolis City Council in Minnesota, USA on March 12, 2021 unanimously agreed to pay $27 million to the family of late George Floyd, as settlement of a federal civil rights lawsuit from the family over his murder. That was reported by some US media.

George Floyd was barbarically murdered on May 25, 2020 after a racist European American policeman called Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck by a roadside for almost nine minutes, deliberately suffocating him to death. The unarmed African American died while yelling desperately that he could not breath. The sadistic racist murder triggered massive protests worldwide, against racism and police brutality.

Trial of Derek Chauvin and three accomplices is now awaiting establishment of an appropriate jury panel.
