A jury in a court in New York City (NYC), USA, on July 2, 2025, acquitted Sean Combs alias Diddy, of the most serious charges made against him during a landmark trial that began there in May 2025.

More specifically, the jury found the legendary wealthy musician and entrepreneur not guilty of 1 count of racketeering, and 2 counts of sex trafficking. These were the most serious charges he was facing, and carry a maximum of life jail term.
However, he was found guilty of some less serious charges against him, that entailed 2 counts of transportation for prostitution. The two charges together, carry a maximum of 20-year-jail term.
Reportedly, the trial that made headlines worldwide, was centered around 2 of 34 witnesses who testified, namely, Cassandra Ventura alias Cassie, and an anonymous woman identified only as "Jane". Both women were Diddy's former girlfriends.
On the one hand, Cassie and Diddy dated for 11 years. During their long romantic relationship that has been described in some US quarters as transactional, Cassie is said to have never reported to the police any sexual assault.
On the other hand, the duration of the romance between "Jane" and Diddy is not clearly known, but it is believed that they dated between 2020 and 2024. One fascinating thing about the romance though is "Jane" is said to have observed during the trial that Diddy was totally obsessed with her in bed, always referring to her as his crack pipe when they were on it.
Diddy was arrested and incarcerated in NYC in September 2024. Since then he has been languishing in incarceration awaiting trial, after all his applications for bail were rejected by judges.
The verdict by the jury is a huge victory for Diddy who has now definitely escaped the life jail-term. The verdict also illustrates vividly that most of the allegations against one of the greatest African American music legends were fabricated and may have had some malicious motives.
