Botswana Bans Sale Of Alcohol To Contain Spread Of Coronavirus

Government of Botswana on August 5, 2020 released a statement that declared ban of sale and consumption of alcohol in public areas, as well as suspension of all liquor licences. That was reported by some media on August 6, 2020. The government reportedly said the measures were part of its efforts geared towards containing spread of coronavirus in the diamond rich SADC country.
Botswana has 804 confirmed coronavirus infection alias covid-19 cases and 2 deaths as of August 6, 2020.
