Adama Barrow Wins Gambia’s Presidential Election As Opposition Cries Foul

Adama Barrow has won Gambia’s presidential election held on December 4, 2021, announced the country’s electoral body on December 5, 2021. The victory gives the incumbent president a second and last five-year term in office.
President Adama Barrow won the election with about 53% of the vote, delivering a humiliating blow to his main rival Qusainou Darboe who got only 28%. Nevertheless, the latter and other opposition presidential nominees have reportedly, so far, refused to concede defeat.
