Adama Barrow has won Gambia’s presidential election held on December 4, 2021, announced the country’s electoral body on December 5, 2021. The victory gives the incumbent president a second and last five-year term in office.

President Adama Barrow won the election with about 53% of the vote, delivering a humiliating blow to his main rival Qusainou Darboe who got only 28%. Nevertheless, the latter and other opposition presidential nominees have reportedly, so far, refused to concede defeat.
