Africa's Diaspora Communities | Haiti February 27, 2021
At least 25 people perished in one of Haiti’s greatest and most daring jail escapes in modern times, reported some media on February 27, 2021.
The bloody jail escape is said to have occurred on February 26, 2021 at Croix-des-Bouquets jail in the capital Port-au-Prince. The jail is considered the country’s highest security jail. Among the dead include the jail director, as well as Haiti’s most powerful gang leader Arnel Joseph. The latter was gunned down in a shootout at a police checkpoint as he tried to pass through and ride away on his motorcycle.
Over 400 inmates are said to have escaped with only a handful recaptured so far. _________________________ © 2015 - 2021 Africauptodate. All Rights Reserved
