USA And EU Support Algeria's Peaceful Protests

USA and European Union (EU) have expressed their support for ongoing peaceful protests in Algeria, reported some media on March 6, 2019. In their statements, USA and EU reportedly said Algerians have right to peaceful protests.
The protesters are demanding the country's veteran president Abdelaziz Bouteflika not to contest for another term in office in the forthcoming presidential election on April 18, 2019. So far, President Bouteflika has dismissed the protesters' demand, saying he will bid for the top political position one more time, but will not serve full term if he wins.
President Abdelaziz Bouteflika who is 82 years old, has been in power since 1999, and has served four terms in office.
