284 Government Bought Vehicles Vanish In Papua New Guinea
At least 284 luxury vehicles worth millions of dollars, imported by the government of Papua New Guinea for transporting delegates of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit held in the capital Port Moresby in 2018, have vanished. That was reported by various media on February 13, 2019.
The disappearance of the luxury vehicles has been linked to corruption within the public sector, by some critics who are said to be calling upon the police to ensure the return of the missing public owned vehicles. Even earlier, the whole idea of holding the international conference there was lambasted by the critics on grounds of non-affordability.
