The Regional Commissioner of Mbeya region in south Tanzania has ordered the police to arrest all the inhabitants of a village, after a mob allegedly destroyed a pipeline supplying clean water to a neighboring village, reported various media sources on August 16, 2018.
The region's police force is said to have responded swiftly and effectively to the order, deploying what it claimed were adequate numbers of vehicles and police officers for the arrest, with the regional police commander emphasizing the villagers committed economic sabotage.
The village in question has about 1600 inhabitants.
