Sierra Leone To Introduce Free Primary And Secondary Education

The recently elected president of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, announced on May 11, 2018, that his country will introduce free primary and secondary education from September 2018. Funding will accrue from spending cuts in other development sectors, that will see budgetary allocation to the education sector increasing from 11% to 20%.
