Uganda’s Prominent Opposition Presidential Nominee’s Home Raided By Soldiers

Uganda’s prominent opposition presidential nominee Bobi Wine’s home has been raided by soldiers and his security guards arrested. That was reported by various media on January 12, 2021. According to the reports, Bobi Wine’s home was raided when he was been interviewed by a Kenyan newspaper.


Even a day earlier on January 11, 2021, some media reported that Facebook has closed accounts linked to the government of Uganda.


Uganda is due to hold general elections on January 14, 2021, with incumbent President Yoweri seeking a sixth term in office. The elections’ campaign period has been marred by protests and violence, as well as killings by security forces.
