Africa | South Africa April 13, 2022

Heavy floods and mudslides resulting from torrential rains have killed at least 59 people in the city of Durban and its suburbs in KwaZulu-Natal Province in South Africa, reported some media on April 13, 2022.

The floods and mudslides are also said to have caused massive damage to the city’s built-up areas, sweeping away buildings, roads, bridges, vehicles, and even shipping containers at Durban Port.

Large parts of the city and its surrounding areas are reportedly submerged in water. However, the torrential rains are forecasted to begin subsiding today. _____________________________ © 2015 - 2022 Africauptodate. All Rights Reserved
