UN Peacekeeping Mission In Mali Completes Withdrawal

UN peacekeeping mission in Mali alias United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) completed its withdrawal from the country, on December 31, 2023, reported some media.

MINUSMA was established on April 25, 2013. It was deployed in Mali until it was dissolved on June 30, 2023, after the ruling military junta there ordered the United Nations to terminate the peacekeeping mission.

The UN peacekeepers in Mali are said to have been replaced by Russia's Wagner Group troops.
