Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has met the country’s exiled main opposition leader Tundu Lissu, reported some media on February 16, 2022. The meeting between the president and the deputy chairman of Tanzania’s main opposition party Chadema is said to have taken place in Brussels, Belgium, where Tundu Lissu lives in exile.
The meeting took place at a time when the chairman of Chadema Freeman Mbowe has been languishing in jail since August 2021 as court proceedings of a controversial terrorism case against him continues. The country's prominent opposition leader is been charged with, among others, providing $240 for funding some alleged terrorism acts. _____________________________ © 2015 - 2022 Africauptodate.
