Tanzania’s President Samia Hassan Emphasizes Significance Of Democracy And Human Rights

Tanzania's President Samia Hassan on April 22, 2021 delivered a powerful speech to the country’s parliament alias Bunge in the capital Dodoma, that seems to outline the vision of her administration.


Among other things, the recently inaugurated president emphasized the significance of democracy, individual freedom, and freedom of press. She observed that democracy, individual freedom, and freedom of press are prerequisites for peace. She added that democracy, individual freedom, and freedom of press can catalyze economic, social, and political development. However, she cautioned that democracy, individual freedom, and freedom of press should be within the confines of the country’s laws.
