Second Tanzanian Undergraduate Killed In Hamas Indiscriminate Attack On Israel

A second Tanzanian undergraduate student has been killed in Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. That was confirmed by the Government of Tanzania on December 14, 2023, and reported by various media.


According to the reports, the Government of Tanzania has said that the Government of Israel has informed it that the undergraduate student namely Joshua Mollel (21) who was previously reported missing after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, was abducted by Hamas during the attack and executed instantly.



Joshua Mollel's body is yet to be found, but believed to be somewhere in Gaza, held by Hamas, say some of the reports.


Earlier, another Tanzanian undergraduate student namely Clemence Mtenga (22) who was also initially reported missing after the Hamas attack, was confirmed killed in the attack, by the Government of Tanzania in November 2023.



Clemence Mtenga's body has been sent back to Tanzania and buried in his home district of Rombo in Kilimanjaro region.


Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, was indiscriminate, involving killing of over 1 200 civilians that included women, elderly people, youngsters, as well as foreign visitors, workers, and students, among others, in some settlements called Kibbutz in southern Israel. Probably most shocking was reported killing of over 300 youngsters who were taking part in a music festival. Also, Hamas abducted over 200 civilians including babies under the age of 1 year.


In response to the attack, Israel declared an all out war on Hamas, reportedly aimed at eradicating the group once and for all. So far, the war that is now ongoing fullfledged by land, air and sea, is said to have claimed over 18 000 civilian lives in Gaza.
