Mugabe To Be Buried In National Shrine In A Month
African hero and former president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe who died at 95 in Singapore on September 6, 2019, will be buried in a month's time, in a new national shrine to be built at Harare's Heroes Acre monument. That was announced by his family on September 13, 2019.
The announcement reportedly came after some lengthy negotiations between the family and the government of Zimbabwe, about whether the ex-president should be laid to rest in his home village or at the Heroes Acres monument. The latter is an exclusive burial ground for Zimbabwe's top political elites who took part in the struggle for liberation of the country from the brutal and racist European minority rule.
