Jazz Legend Tony Allen Dies

The legendary drummer and jazz musician Tony Allen has died at the age of 79, reported some media on May 1, 2020. He died in Paris, France, on April 30, 2020.

Born in Nigeria, Tony Allen during his music career delivered a combination of West African rhythms and American jazz funk. He worked with the iconic Nigerian musician Fela Kuti in the 1960s and 70s, and is said to be one of the co-founders of the popular Afrobeat genre.
