Jamaica’s 2020 General Elections Commence



Voters in Jamaica on September 3, 2020 went to polling stations for the country’s 2020 general elections. The ruling party Jamaica Labor Party (JLP) under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister Andrew Holness and its rival People National Party (PNP) under its leader Peter Phillips are battling for 63 seats of the country’s parliament. According to the country’s Constitution, the leader of the political party that wins most seats in the parliament becomes the next prime minister of Jamaica.
