Assassin Of Sweden's Ex-PM Olof Palme To Be Charged Soon, Says Public Prosecutor

Assassin of Sweden's former Prime Minister (PM) Olof Palme will be revealed and brought to trial within the next five months, reported some Swedish media on February 18, 2020. According to the reports, that was said by the country's chief public prosecutor working on the assassination of the former PM.

Mr Olof Palme, a world renowned statesman, was gunned down in downtown Stockholm, 34 years ago. He was a staunch proponent of social justice, human rights, and inclusiveness. He was particularly against, among others, the former apartheid system in South Africa and the controversial US-led war in Vietnam.

With exception of arrest of a handful of suspected shooters who were later released, no one has so far been charged for the fatal shooting. The unresolved assassination of the globally popular PM has triggered many theories about possible motives and assassins, including some conspiracy theories.
