Chicago To Get Female African American Mayor For The First Time


Chicago will elect its first female African American mayor for the first time ever, when Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle battle it out for the city's top position in a runoff on April 4, 2019. That was reported in various US media on February 27, 2019.

Lori Lightfoot is federal prosecutor, while Toni Preckwinkle is the president of Cook County Board.
