Haiti Suspends Fuel Price Hike After Fatal Protests

On July 8, 2018, the government of Haiti suspended an over 40% fuel price hike, following fatal protests against the hike in the capital Port-Au-Prince and elsewhere in the country from July 6, 2018. However, despite the government back down, the protests are still going on, some media sources reported on July 9, 2018. At least three people have died in the protests so far.
