Tanzania Will Not Allow Teenage Mothers Back To School Despite 62% Of Citizens Thinking Otherwise

Updated: Aug 21, 2021

Like in many other countries in the world, teenage pregnancy in Tanzania is a crucial societal issue that has so far been presenting a big challenge to the government. However, recently the government came forward with what it believes will resolve the issue once and for all - pregnant school girls will not be allowed back to school to resume their studies after giving birth! This stance of the government seems to be out of the assumption that school girls knowing that they will be expelled from school for good if they get pregnant, will be extremely careful not to get into that situation. But then, a very respected charitable organization in the country called Twaweza, in its 2016 report, says that 62% of Tanzanians do not think so! In other words, the citizens do not think their government's position on the issue is correct. _______________________________ © 2015 - 2017 Africauptodate. All Rights Reserved
