16 Dead In Ethiopia Protests

At least 16 people have been killed in Ethiopia as security forces attempted to clampdown protests against the government of prime minister and Nobel prize winner Aby Ahmed, reported some media on October 25, 2019.

The protests that began on October 23, 2019, were reportedly triggered by arrest and alleged mistreatment by police of a prominent Ethiopian-American activist called Jawar Mohammed, on October 22, 2019.

Paradoxically, the protesters are said to belong to the prime minister's ethnic group, the Oromo.
