Trump Takes Anti-Malaria Drug Hydroxychloroquine For Protection Against Covid-19

President Donald Trump of USA takes a daily dose of anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to protect himself against covid-19, reported some media on May 19, 2020.

According to the reports, the "Keep America Great" president says he has been taking the anti-malaria drug for more than a week now. He added that he gets tested for covid-19 every couple of days, and all the results have been negative so far.

While President Trump is optimistic about the effect of hydroxychloroquine in combating covid-19, some of his country's medical experts and critics are pessimistic, arguing that the anti-malaria drug is unproven drug as regards covid-19. But then, where is the proven drug for covid-19? Probably that is why President Trump reportedly said people have nothing to lose in trying the anti-malaria drug.

Similar strong criticisms have been directed to Madagascar's unproven herbal drink called Covid-Organics that the African country says can prevent and cure covid-19. The herbal drink is said to have been derived from herbs that belong to the artemisia genus of plants that are also used in some proven malaria drugs. Several African countries have imported the unproven covid-19 herbal drink from Madagascar.
