The diva together with two other divas namely Diana Ross and Florence Ballard found The Supremes in late 1950s. The girl group got its first recording contract with Motown Records in 1961 and became the flagship of the iconic record label for decades.
Mary Wilson remained with The Supremes after Florence Ballard and Diana Ross left in 1967 and 1970 respectively to become solo artists. However, in 1977 she also called it quits with The Supremes in favor of solo career as singer, actress, activist, and philanthropist.
