Tanzania on March 24, 2022, officially inaugurated its recently completed cross sea bridge in Dar es Salaam, reported some Tanzanian media. The official inauguration of the bridge called Tanzanite Bridge that was opened for traffic last month, was done by the country’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Tanzanite Bridge is said to be a girder and cable-stayed bridge over the Indian Ocean's Msimbazi Creek. It is 1.03 km long and 20.5 m wide and entails 4 lane dual carriageway with pedestrian ways. It reportedly costed about $110 million.

The ultra-modern bridge is expected to lessen traffic congestion between the eastern part of downtown Dar es Salaam and one of the city’s four radial arterial roads called Bagamoyo Road. _____________________________ © 2015 - 2022 Africauptodate. All Rights Reserved
