South Africa Announces $26 Billion Economic Stimulus In Response To Coronavirus Pandemic

Government of South Africa has unveiled a $26 billion economic stimulus to help its economy during the new coronavirus pandemic, reported some media on April 22, 2020. The stimulus package that constitutes 10% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) is said to have been announced in a speech President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered on April 21, 2020.

South Africa becomes one of a handful of African countries that are tackling the economic impacts of the new coronavirus outbreak through using their own local financial resources.
