Somalia Severs Diplomatic Ties With Kenya

Somalia on December 15, 2020 severed its diplomatic ties with Kenya, reported some media.

Reportedly, Somalia accuses Kenya of violating its sovereignty and meddling in its internal affairs. Relation between the two neighboring nations seems to have worsened after President Muse Biji Abdi of Somaliland, a semi-autonomous region of Somalia that have declared independence, arrived in Nairobi on December 13, 2020 for a three-day official visit to Kenya.

Unlike rest of Somalia that is polarized by civil war and impoverished, Somaliland is said to be relatively peaceful and prosperous.
