Soccer Megastar Pele Dies

Soccer megastar Pele, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, is dead. He died in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on December 29, 2022, at the age of 82.

One of the greatest football players of all time, Pele was named FIFA’s Player of the Century in 2000. He won the World Cup thrice and remain the holder of the world scoring record having scored 1281 goals during his football career.

Also, Pele is said to have been a committed philanthropist as well as social and political activist who inspired and fought for the rights of people of African descent in Brazil and elsewhere.
